Kateryna Shalaiska

Kateryna Shalaiska is a violinist from Lviv for whom Ukrainian music occupies an important place in her artistic work. She consistently includes works by Ukrainian composers in her concert programmes.

Kateryna Shalaiska received her professional musical education in Lviv, studying first at the Solomiya Krushelnytska Specialized Music School and later at the Mykola Lysenko National Music Academy. She completed her studies in the violin class of Professor and People’s Artist of Ukraine Lidiya Shutko, earning a Master’s degree and completing postgraduate artistic training. She has also participated in masterclasses with renowned violinists and chamber music ensembles in Ukraine and abroad.

She is a laureate and diploma holder of international and national competitions. Chamber music forms an important part of her concert activity: performing in trio and ensemble settings, she regularly presents works of Ukrainian classical repertoire, including piano trios by Vasyl Barvinsky and Borys Lyatoshynsky. In addition to her chamber projects, she performs as a soloist and has been a member of the Academic Chamber Orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic “Virtuosi of Lviv” since 2021.
