Modest Mentsinskyi

Modest Mentsinskyi is a Ukrainian cellist and conductor from Lviv, active as a soloist and chamber musician across Ukraine. His work combines concert performance with teaching and artistic research, reflecting a broad and engaged presence in contemporary Ukrainian musical life.

Modest Mentsinskyi received his musical education in Lviv, studying first at the Solomiya Krushelnytska Specialized Music School and later at the Mykola Lysenko National Music Academy, where he focused on cello and chamber music. He continued his studies through postgraduate artistic training and doctoral studies, completing an artistic doctoral project in 2025 and earning the degree of Doctor of Arts. In parallel, he pursued formal studies in orchestral and operatic conducting.

He is a laureate of national and international competitions and a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship of Ukraine for young artists. Modest Mentsinskyi performs regularly at festivals in Ukraine and abroad, collaborates with Ukrainian orchestras, and since 2023 has been teaching chamber music at the Mykola Lysenko National Music Academy in Lviv.
